Acting Secretary Julie Su visited Pittsburgh on October 2nd to announce a major workforce development initiative focused on creating opportunities for women in manufacturing.
At the Energy Innovation Center, Su shared the news that Catalyst Connection will receive $716,701 in funding through the National Women in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations (WANTO) grant initiative. This funding will expand Catalyst’s efforts to recruit and support women in manufacturing apprenticeships, building a more inclusive workforce.
"Really, we are working toward a day where there will no longer be nontraditional occupations for women," Su emphasized during her visit. This initiative is a big step in that direction!
Partner4Work is proud to stand with Catalyst Connection and local leaders like Mayor Ed Gainey, County Executive Sara Innamorato, and PA State Representative Summer Lee, as we collaborate to ensure equitable access to good-paying jobs.
Together, we are building an "opportunity infrastructure" that opens doors for women and underrepresented communities.
