Legislators to extend Temporary Assistance for Needy Families grant
Congress is expected to tack on a ten-month extension of the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) block grant as part of the “21st Century Cures Act,” a massive bill that primarily focuses on health care issues, including revisions to Federal Drug Administration medication approval processes and funding for the National Institutes of Health. A House vote on the bill is scheduled for Wednesday, with Senate action likely to follow either the same day or Thursday, December 1st.
